Celebs on Climate Change

Updated: Apr 17, 2023

Leonardo DiCaprio ~

“Climate change is real, it is happening right now. It is the most urgent threat facing our entire species and we need to work collectively together and stop procrastinating.”

As a known climate change activist, DiCaprio set up his own foundation which is "dedicated to the protection and wellbeing of all Earth's inhabitants." The foundation has so far funded over 200 projects around the world and awarded $100million in grants. ᶦ

Shawn Mendes ~

“Our generation has the power to change the future of our planet, and to help carry that change forward for so many generations to follow”

The singer is focusing on "youth-related causes" in areas like children's healthcare, sustainability, mental health, human rights, anti-bullying and education. Along with the foundation comes a partnership with Reverb, an environmental non-profit that assists artists in attempts to minimize their carbon footprints on tour. ᶦᶦ

Jennifer Aniston ~

“Obviously, when I learn about something new that I can do in my everyday life that makes a whole lot of sense and can help the environment, I do it. Eventually, it just becomes second nature. If we all begin to learn from one another and share some of the things we do, we just might be able to affect the world for the better through these little rituals. In a curious way, this would be a great wave of awareness: doing the right thing without being told to or having to think why.”

Anne Hathaway ~

“While working on The Hustle, I noticed disposable coffee cups, plastic water bottles, idling trucks, and food waste. When I finished the film, my family and I went zero waste.”

“It’s about being conscious that the way I choose to live my life is going to have repercussions for somebody else, like our children.”

ᶦᵛ

Donald Trump ~

"The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make US manufacturing non-competitive."

Known for his deluded comments on such pressing issues, Trump is yet to express genuine belief for climate change. He has used social media platforms such as Twitter to gain political publicity.
